Is Music Endless?

As I was preparing a Loops package titled, The Loops, I realized that there are so many different combinations and styles and tempos, etc. of music that I asked myself... Is music endless? Will any two original melodies ever sound alike? Or is music like finger prints, original and unique?

There is a reason that I pointed out "original music" and the reason for that is because an imitation of a song will eventually have the same melody as the one it is flattering. But is music like people? You will see people who look like other people, but even when it comes to identical twins, they are never really identical. There is always something that is different. I believe if we were to go back through time and collect every human that has ever existed we will not find two people that are identical. And I'm just referring to the physical. If I include the emotional and characteristics, then the chances become even slimmer. I go so far as to say that we could be here for another million years an through out all of history we there will never be to people exactly the same. So the question becomes how is that possible, how can something be infinite? Well, outside of God, infinite seems impossible, but now there are other things that are coming up that may be infinite also. In this case... music.

Is it possible for two melodies to have existed that were exactly identical to each other? Then if you could find that, the next would be the tempo. To find a beat with the exact same melody is one thing, but then to find it with the same exact tempo or BPM's, seems highly improbable. Then when you factor in instruments and style of music, and which octave and which chords, it starts to become apparent that no two musical performances have ever been exactly the same to one another. Now I don't know about you, but that to me is crazy! Something we can participate in is eternal! Is music like time, going on and on to never repeat itself again? We say history repeats itself, but history isn't time. Am I making too much out of this? Maybe, but when you put it into perspective it is amazing. Music is different because we are all different and music comes from within us. It's like your finger print. No one else on the planet has it except for maybe an identity thief. Someone would literally have to copy a tune in order to make one exactly the same and even then there are going to be small differences.

So as we move on through life, and generations come and go, music will continue to find a way to be different and unique. It's not evolution, it's just our Spirit's finger prints.
